Important Conference Update

Dear Colleagues,

We truly are living in challenging times and most importantly hope that you are all safe and well. The COVID-19 pandemic has certainly caused unprecedented disruption globally and we have been closely monitoring the situation with locally authorities, government and health organization such as the WHO and CDC.

After careful consideration we have made the difficult decision to postpone the 7th PTCOG-NA Conference to be held in Seattle. This decision was not taken lightly as our annual conference, especially for a young association, is the key opportunity we have to interact with the PTCOG-NA community. It has become clear however, that it will not be possible to meet our objectives in 2020 in the current climate. We also understand that the effects of this pandemic will likely continue even after lock-down restrictions dissipate. The remainder of 2020 will certainly bring other challenges such as personnel requirements to meet the demand of postponed treatments and financial situations that may limit travel and funding.

However, the good news is we would like to confirm that the 7th Annual Conference of the Particle Therapy Co-Operative Group North America will remain in Seattle and is to be held September 18-21, 2021. Please do save the date.

We would also like to take this opportunity to highlight that all is not lost in 2020, far from it. We will turn our focus to other matters outside the annual conference and are reviewing opportunities of a workshop or virtual meeting in the fall of 2020. We will also be focusing on some further improvements to the membership and services provided to the PTCOG-NA community.

We would like to thank everyone who has been involved to date with the 7th PTCOG-NA Conference and look forward to seeing you for a successful event in 2021.
